The Incredible Burt Wonderstone review by FAT Mike
Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt's growing ego. But when a street magician named Steve Gray (Jim Carrey) begins to make their show look stale, it’s up to Burt and Anton to not just to save their act but also save their friendship.
Burt Wonderstone has an awesome cast made up of Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, and James Gandolfini. I really enjoyed Jim Carrey’s character Steve Gray who’s a funny version of Chris Angle. THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE didn’t have as many laughs as I thought it would. You can tell the cast had fun making the film but the writing doesn’t have heart. I felt throughout the movie that it was written for Will Farrell to star in. I also felt that Burt never really changes for the better. THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE is worth a watch and it’s a fun ride. It isn’t a heavy hitter like Anchorman or The 40 Year Old Virgin; it’s fun but forgettable
THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE doesn’t have many laughs, is forgettable and lacks heart, but has an awesome cast and it’s worth a watch. Cheers and remember life will never suck as long as there is a GOOD movie to watch.
