2 GUNS review by FAT Mike
A DEA agent and a naval intelligence officer find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. While fleeing, they learn the secret of their shaky alliance, neither knew that the other was an undercover agent.
I like Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg but with a title like 2 GUNS I didn’t think I was going to like this film. I WAS WRONG; this film is an awesome, witty buddy cop movie. The story as the right blend of action, comedy, and hilarious one liners.
The chemistry between Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg is amazing with Denzel Washington class and Mark Wahlberg load mouth one liners. Bill Paxton as the ruthless bad guy is a smart choice and does well as the heel to Washington and Wahlberg.
I enjoyed 2 GUNS from start to finish. I would like to see them work together again but I don’t think it would top this film. The story is based off a graphic novel, which I haven’t read yet; we’ve seen movies like this before but 2 GUNS feels fresh. From start to finish I had a good time.
With a fresh take on a story we know, the chemistry between Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, and the right blend of action, comedy, and one liners 2 GUNS is a classic don’t judge a case by its cover. Cheers and remember never rob a bank that's across the street from a diner with the best Donuts in Three Counties.
