GRAVITY review by FAT Mike
A medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.
Wow! This movie takes your breath away! Right from the get go GRAVITY is heart pounding and frightful. I couldn’t imagine being in this scenario.
The cast is amazing which is no shock for a film that stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. They work real well together but I had a hard time loosing myself in George Clooney‘s character. As you may know, I’m not a fan of Sandra Bullock but this film changed that. She starts off helpless and ends strong and amazing. She made forget I was watching Sandra Bullock in space and made me believe I was watching her character and that’s what I look for in an intense drama and thriller.
I've never felt involved with a character until midway through the movie which is okay because the film just goes from 0 to 60 in 5minutes. The story is unique and fresh but at times feels like a video game. The first 20 minutes of GRAVITY burns in to your head but from then on it is a heart pounding ride but ends up being a bit forgettable. The C.G. is stunning and is so believable at times you forget that it isn’t real. I also enjoyed some of the symbolism of rebirth; it’s a nice under tone to the story.
I went into GRAVITY with an open mind and came out stunned. It’s not 100% but it’s a hell of a ride. Cheers and remember life will never suck as long as there is a GOOD movie to watch.
