DON JON review by FAT Mike

A New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church, develops unrealistic expectations from watching porn and works to find happiness and intimacy with his potential true love.

After all the good movies I’ve watched this month I didn’t have high hopes for DON JON. But I enjoyed Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directing and writing debut didn’t let me down.
I know a lot of people didn’t dig this movie but its funny and messed up so I enjoyed it. The film is short at only 90 minutes but it’s fast paced. The cast is awesome Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a guy that in real life I wouldn’t be able to stand, but he makes this character lovable which I liked. Scarlett Johansson is awesome and you love to hate her in this film. As always Julianne Moore is the sweet heart and brilliant. I haven’t seen Tony Danza in something in a long time but I loved him as the father in this movie. I enjoyed Don Jon but something is missing; the ending felt like Joseph Gordon-Levitt's didn’t know how to cap it off so it just kind of ends.

This film isn’t too short or long, the cast is good and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's makes a person that in real life you wouldn’t like into a lovable character. The film ends fast but is worth a  watch. Cheers and remember life will never suck as long as there is a GOOD movie to watch.

4.5 out of 10
